Our Fijian Christmas at Plantation Island Resort

Joe and I were so lucky to be able to spend our Christmas and New Years with Joe’s entire family in Fiji last year. We enjoyed Pina Coladas, went snorkelling all around the island, jumped off inflatables and let off fireworks!

When we went snorkelling in the ocean off Plantation Island I saw fish and coral that I have never seen before. It’s true when they say that camera’s can’t pick up the true colours of coral under the water. Such beautiful pinks and purples we saw, however unfortunately they came up as yellows and oranges on our Go Pro. Doesn’t matter we will never forget. If you have the chance of going to Fiji, make sure to snorkel and go to as many coral reefs as possible!

The girls and I spent NYE creating flower crowns and enjoying the most amazing pink sunset that I have ever seen. We foraged flowers from around our accomodation (there is an abundance of florals on the island, our spoils will not be missed). We also used fishing line to hold them altogether that Ali saved from the ocean. So we were making pretty things and doing a little good for the ocean at the same time 🙂

I have never spent Christmas away from home, I think for anywhere in the world to spend it some place else that Fiji was the place!
